You can select either a laser scanner or an imager scanner as built-in option. Laser scanner supports all standard 1D symbologies. The imager has laser aimer for easy aiming and can read all standard 1D/2D barcode symbologies and GS1 Databar. You can also have great benefit for reading poor-printed and damaged barcodes. ลักษณะการทำงานของ เครื่องอ่านบาร์โค้ดแบบไร้สาย ( HandHeld )
ปฏิเสธไม่ได้เลยว่าบาร์โค้ด คือ รูปแบบการเก็บข้อมูลอันเป็นที่นิยมในหลาย ๆ บริษัท หลาย ๆ องค์กร เนื่องจากสามารถบันทึกข้อมูลปลีกย่อยเอาไว้ได้มาก และการนำข้อมูลออกมาใช้ก็เป็นเรื่องที่สะดวก
แต่การที่จะดึงจะข้อมูลใน บาร์โค้ด ออกมานั้น จำเป็นต้องมีอุปกรณ์ที่เรียกว่าเครื่องอ่านบาร์โค้ดเพราะไม่เช่นนั้น การจะนำข้อมูลจากบาร์โค้ดออกมาจะไม่สามารถทำได้ โดยเครื่องอ่านบาร์โค้ดที่ผลิตออกมาในปัจจุบันมีอยู่หลายรูปแบบ หลายยี่ห้อด้วยกัน แต่หลัก ๆ เลย ก็จะมีอยู่ 3 ประเภทใหญ่ๆ คือ แบบตั้งโต๊ะกับแบบเคลื่อนที่ได้ แบบตั้งโต๊ะมักจะเอามาใช้ในงานทั่ว ๆ ไป อย่างการสแกนบาร์โค้ดสินค้า บาร์โค้ดบัตร เพื่อบันทึกข้อมูลของสินค้าหรือบุคคล เช่น เครื่องอ่านบาร์โค้ดที่เคาน์เตอร์ในห้างสรรพสินค้า ส่วนถ้าเป็นแบบเคลื่อนที่ได้มักจะใช้ในงานเกี่ยวกับการสำรวจสินค้า บันทึกสถิติในองค์กร เป็นส่วนใหญ่กับอีกแบบหนึ่ง คือ เครื่องอ่านบาร์โค้ดที่ฝังอยู่กับเครื่องตรวจจับขโมยในห้างสรรพสินค้าและตามร้านสะดวกซื้อต่าง ๆ
สำหรับหลักการทำงานของเครื่องอ่านบาร์โค้ดแบบต่าง ๆ มันก็ไม่มีความยุ่งยากหรือซับซ้อนอะไร แต่ก่อนอื่น เราต้องจำแนกให้ได้ก่อนว่าเครื่องอ่านบาร์โค้ดจะประกอบด้วย 2 ส่วนใหญ่ ๆ คือ ส่วนอ่านซึ่งจะเป็นจุดปล่อยเลเซอร์ที่ใช้สำหรับอ่านรหัสจากบาร์โค้ดกับอีกส่วนหนึ่ง คือ ส่วนคอมพิวเตอร์ที่จะเป็นตัวประมวลผลและบันทึกข้อมูลจากบาร์โค้ดที่อ่านแล้ว ซึ่งการทำงานของมันก็จะเริ่มจากการอ่านบาร์โค้ดก่อน โดยการนำเลเซอร์ไปสัมผัสกับบาร์โค้ด เมื่อเกิดการสัมผัสแล้ว เลเซอร์จะทำการอ่านดังที่แสดงออกให้เราเห็นคือการกระพริบพร้อมกับเสียงดัง ติ๊ด นั่นคือเครื่องได้ทำการอ่านบาร์โค้ดแล้ว
เมื่ออ่านเสร็จข้อมูลจากการอ่านบาร์โค้ดจะถูกส่งไปยังคอมพิวเตอร์เพื่อประมวลผล ในกระบวนการนี้จะใช้เวลาเพียง 1-2 วินาทีเท่านั้น ก่อนที่ข้อมูลจะถูกแสดงออกมาในรูปของรายละเอียดสินค้าหรือรายละเอียดของบุคคลเจ้าของบัตรก็แล้วแต่ ในเครื่องอ่านบาร์โค้ดของห้างสรรพสินค้า มักจะมีการตั้งค่าให้รวมยอดและบันทึกข้อมูลสินค้าอัตโนมัติด้วย ส่งผลให้การคิดค่าสินค้าเป็นไปอย่างรวดเร็วไม่ต้องมาคอยกดปุ่ม Enter เพื่อบันทึกข้อมูลและรวมยอดสินค้าเอาเองให้ลำบาก ลดปัญหา User Error ลงไปได้ด้วย
ข้อควรรู้อีกอย่างหนึ่งของ เครื่องอ่านบาร์โค้ดไร้สาย คือ เครื่องอ่านบาร์โค้ดจะไม่มีปฏิกิริยาใด ๆ กับกระดาษเปล่าหรือกระดาษบาร์โค้ดที่มีแถบไม่ชัดเจน ดังนั้น ผู้ใช้งานควรนำบาร์โค้ดที่พิมพ์ออกจากเครื่องพิมพ์บาร์โค้ดโดยเฉพาะ มาให้ เครื่องอ่านบาร์โค้ดมือถือ เท่านั้น พยายามอย่าใช้บาร์โค้ดที่มาจากเครื่องพิมพ์ธรรมดา เนื่องจากบาร์โค้ดที่มาจากเครื่องพิมพ์ธรรมดา บางครั้งมีแถบรหัสไม่ชัดเจน ลบเลือน ซึ่งถ้าเกิดบาร์โค้ดมาในลักษณะอย่างที่บอก เครื่องอ่านบาร์โค้ดจะไม่อ่านให้ ยกเว้นเครื่องอ่านบางตัวที่มีประสิทธิภาพสูง จึงจะสามารถอ่านแถบบาร์โค้ดที่พิมพ์ออกมาจากเครื่องพิมพ์ธรรมดาได้
